The period between the two World Wars brought many changes to the seaside. Bathing-machines vanished, and are now museum pieces. At Ramsgate one of the finest bathing pools on the South Coast was built (now sadly filled in and used as a car park). The old time entertainments - minstrels and pierots went. Military Bands and then Dance Bands became popular.
